This is not a fresh judgment on a legal dispute but a short procedural order in an already-decided civil appeal. The original appellant, Pani Ram, had died during the pendency of proceedings, and his legal representatives applied to be substituted in his place so the matter's records reflected the correct parties. A connected application also sought to correct a clerical error in a judgment dated 17.12.2021: specifically, to replace the name of one advocate (Mr. Siddhartha Iyer) with another (Mr. Lalit Kumar) as recorded in paragraph 9 of that judgment.
The Supreme Court allowed the substitution application, directing that the case's title be amended to reflect the legal heirs of the deceased appellant in place of Pani Ram. It also allowed the correction application, permitting the advocate's name in paragraph 9 of the earlier judgment to be corrected. Both the miscellaneous application and the interlocutory application were disposed of as allowed, without any decision on the underlying merits of the original appeal (which had already been decided on 17.12.2021).
