Frequently asked questions

What is Legal Case Shots?+

Legal Case Shots is a searchable archive of judgments from the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. Each judgment is broken down into the background, how the court decided and the lesson learnt, with the full judgment available as a PDF.

Which courts does Legal Case Shots cover?+

Legal Case Shots currently covers the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court.

How often are new judgments added?+

New judgments are added daily.

How do I search for a specific judgment?+

Log in, which is currently free, to search by case name or judge and to filter by court or legal area. Without an account you can read the newest cases and browse the index of every ruling.

Is the full judgment available, or just a summary?+

Both. Each case shows a summary made up of the background, the decision breakdown and the lesson learnt, and links to the full judgment as a PDF for when you need the complete text.

How is a "lesson learnt" different from the court's holding?+

The holding is what the court legally decided. The lesson learnt turns that into a practical takeaway: what a person, a business or a lawyer should do differently because of the ruling.

Are the case summaries reviewed by a lawyer?+

No. The summaries are generated by AI from the text of each judgment and are not reviewed by a lawyer before they are published. Always check the summary against the full judgment PDF.

Can I cite Legal Case Shots in a court filing?+

Use Legal Case Shots to find and understand relevant judgments, then cite the judgment itself. Verify every point against the full judgment PDF and use the court's own citation or case number, such as 2026 INSC 894 for the Supreme Court or 2026:DHC:8033 for the Delhi High Court.
